New Year, New Me, New Blog…It’s Time for a Change

You may have noticed a decrease in new articles in the last few weeks on Qpon Junkie. In the three years since I started my blog, the only times I have not posted were in times of sickness. Even on vacation the stress of finding an internet signal or getting deals posted made me a little crazy. In the first two years I worked seven days a week all hours day and night. During 2013, I finally decided to take off on Sundays for church, family and mental stability.

We made it to the Christmas holiday and I figured I earned an entire week break. My daughter will be four soon and I did not want to miss any of her Christmas joy. While on my break I spoiled myself with a massage. It was the first massage in three years where I didn’t think to myself, “should I be doing this now, is there something that needs to be posted, what deals am I missing, did I reply to everyone’s email, what am I going to do tomorrow”? The list goes on and on.

This massage was different, suddenly I felt calm. Do you remember the long run scene in the movie “Forrest Gump” where Forrest is running, and running, and running and he suddenly stops? He stops and looks dumbfounded for a second and then he turns around to go home. He ran for three years, two months, fourteen days and sixteen hours. Right now I feel like Forrest Gump and I am dang tired.

Qpon Junkie is my passion. I love working on it everyday. I love to post about deals, share money-saving tips, include readers in memorable events of our family, work with awesome brands and help others through my blog. I have realized with this passion and the outrageous commitment I put on myself I have fallen short on other aspects in my life.  There is so much work that goes into running and maintaining a blog and 100x extra if you are a frugal blogger. I have worked alone on Qpon Junkie for over three years and it’s time for a change.

I honestly do not know what that change will be. Do I start another blog, one that is not so frugal in nature? Do I keep up Qpon Junkie and slow down the pace a bit? I am still trying to decide. I know I am going to need a lot of prayer because this is a big question and I am stuck on a decision.

Until then, I want to say thank you and wish each one of you a Happy, Blessed New Year. I hope your struggles in this new year are minimal and all your prayers are answered. I will keep the Coupon Database running for your needs (unless I see that it is not being used). I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have via my Comments Page. I will still be posting my favorite deals (just not so many) while I figure out the next step.

  1. Well, I’m a newbie when it comes to using coupons and wish I get better at it so I can save on things. I hope you make the right decision. Happy New year and God Bless!
